Liverpool have received a huge boost as it has emerged that one of their key men will be available for their Carabao Cup semi-final against Fulham.

Recently, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have had a plethora of injury problems but that didn’t stop the Red Devils from romping to a 4-0 win against Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Andy Robertson, Trent-Alexander Arnold and Dominik Szoboszlai were a handful of crucial names who were missing for Klopp’s men during their clash on the South Coast.

However, as they prepare for a huge clash against Fulham at Craven Cottage in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Marco Silva’s side, they have received a big boost.

Ljinders on returning star

Speaking ahead of their game against the Cottagers, Pep Lijnders was asked about the fitness of Scottish left-back Robertson, who has been such a vital cog for the Anfield club over the past couple of years.

“Is he available to play? Yes. The medical team said it is a coaching decision, so he is in! It’s now 13 weeks, he had his meeting with the surgeon to make sure that everything is right to go into full contact – it’s clear,” Lijnders revealed to the Liverpool Echo.

“So he did a lot of work and really good rehab throughout the last period, so he’s fit in terms of sports science. Now he has to get fit with proper team training.”

The return of the left-back will be vital for the Merseyside club going forward as they aim to battle on four fronts this season, similar to the 2021-2022 season.

Ljinders on Trent return

As well as this, speaking in the pre-match press conference, the Liverpool assistant was asked about the fitness of right-back Alexander-Arnold, as well as Curtis Jones and Szoboszlai.

“Curtis is OK, Trent is now two weeks [out], team training by the end of the week, hopefully, be ready for FA Cup, Dominik will be ready for FA Cup if everything is smooth,” Ljinders revealed.

Having four key men back for the Reds will be crucial as they aim to achieve their 20th title victory this campaign to draw level with the Red Devils.
