Liverpool won in Madrid once again by beating Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night, prompting Rebeca Tavares to celebrate on Twitter.

Tavares buzzing with Liverpool win

Liverpool were 2-0 up inside 13 minutes thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah and Naby Keita.

Atletico roared back with an Antoine Griezmann brace, but Salah had the last laugh, winning the game with a penalty.

Tavares – the wife of Liverpool star Fabinho – has now taken to Twitter to react to the victory.

Tavares simply offered four words after Liverpool’s win, stating ‘we run this city’.

Her husband Fabinho played the second half in last night’s win, helping Liverpool to a big victory in Madrid.

Liverpool’s recent record in Madrid

Look, some will remember Liverpool’s trip to the Wanda Metropolitano in 2020. They lost 1-0 to Atletico without even having a shot on target.

Others will even recall the 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Spanish capital back in April of this year.

Last night’s win was big though, exorcising some demons from that 2020 defeat to Diego Simeone’s side.

Many of the travelling Liverpool fans will have been in that stadium when Liverpool beat Tottenham there in the 2019 Champions League final.

They will be buzzing with last night’s victory, and even if there was no silverware last night, they will be glad to exert some revenge on Simeone.
