Paul Merson has predicted in The Daily Star that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will win against Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid in the final of the Champions League this season.

Premier League giants Liverpool and Spanish powerhouse Madrid will face each other in the final of Europe’s premier club competition this month.

The final will be played at Stade de France in Saint-Denis on May 28.

Former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit Merson has backed Liverpool to win against Madrid.

Liverpool backed to beat Real Madrid in Champions League final

Merson wrote in The Daily Star: “Liverpool will beat Real Madrid. They won’t mess about. They will have too much for them in the Champions League Final.”

In our opinion, Liverpool will head into the final of the Champions League against Madrid as favourites, but the Reds cannot get complacent.

The Reds have the better team, with attacking players such as Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz in top form at the moment.

However, Madrid have shown this season that they never give up.

Ancelotti’s side have defeated Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester City on their way to the final.

Madrid know how to get the job done in big games.

If Liverpool are to win, then they have to take their chances against Madrid and not make the mistakes Manchester City did in the semi-finals.
