Alisson believes Liverpool can challenge for the Premier League title this season if Jurgen Klopp’s side focus only on their own results rather than their rivals’, via the Liverpool Echo.
The Anfield natives are joint-top of the table on 10 points with Manchester United, Chelsea and Everton after four games. Each have won three of their opening fixtures while drawing once, while West Ham are also unbeaten after two draws.
Liverpool sit third behind Manchester United on goals scored and boast an identical record to Chelsea in second. Defending title-holders Manchester City, meanwhile, rank fifth after losing at seventh-placed Tottenham Hotspur on the opening day of the season.
Liverpool have also only trailed in a game once this season, after falling behind to Chelsea from the penalty spot. Kai Havertz’s hit also marking the only goal the Reds have allowed thus far this term, with the joint-best defensive record with Chelsea and Manchester City.
The Reds will look to maintain their unbeaten start at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday. The Eagles claimed their first win of the campaign against Tottenham last weekend, beating Nuno Espirito Santo’s side 3-0. But Alisson believes Liverpool must focus only on their form, as they have the quality to win the Premier League providing they perform at their levels.
“This season will be different to all the others I faced [with Liverpool],” Alisson said. “We need to look just at ourselves. I believe in my teammates and the quality. I think we can challenge for the Premier League [title this season].”

Alisson was instrumental to Liverpool winning their first Premier League title and top-flight crown in 30-years during the 2019/20 campaign. The Brazilian featured 29 times between the sticks under Klopp, keeping 15 clean sheets to 23 goals conceded.
Liverpool could not defend their title last season amid a wealth of defensive injuries. Yet Alisson still boasted 10 shut outs to 32 goals conceded – and scored once – in 33 outings. The £67m shot-stopper has started all four of the Reds’ league games thus far this term.
Alisson’s efforts also saw Liverpool reward their title-eying goalkeeper with a new, six-year contract last month worth a reported £150k-a-week. Proceeding the 28-year-old starting the season with three clean sheets in four appearances amid their unbeaten start.
