Liverpool head into a hugely important game against Chelsea after finally ending their four match losing streak.

Jurgen Klopp’s men beat Sheffield United 2-0 on Sunday evening, but the challenge of beating Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea side looks a much tougher proposition.

Tuchel is yet to lose a game since taking over at Chelsea and if that record extends on Thursday, then Liverpool’s hopes of breaking back into the top four will take another blow.

Klopp will realise that he needs to get his team selection spot on, but he does thankfully have options to make some alterations to his line-up.

The Liverpool boss said that both Alisson and Fabinho should be fit in midweek, which will be a major boost.

It is to be expected that Allison and Fabinho will both be drafted in immediately if they are available, as Klopp’s side takes on a more familiar feel.

Alisson will replace Adrian in net for Liverpool, despite his clean-sheet against the Blades.

Klopp’s biggest decision will be who to bring 27-year-old Fabinho in to replace at centre-back, and it seems that Ozan Kabak may be the most likely to lose his place.

Kabak joined Liverpool in January but the signs are that he hasn’t fully settled yet.

Phillips has generally looked more solid than the 20-year-old, who can be signed permanently for £18 million (BILD), during his time in the team so far.

And it could be that Phillips is the player who is given the nod to start alongside Fabinho, in an otherwise unchanged Liverpool line-up.
