Liverpool take on Napoli tonight with Jurgen Klopp facing some tricky decisions as he prepares a lineup for this Champions League challenge.

Naples hasn’t exactly been a happy hunting ground for Liverpool.

Liverpool have travelled to take on Napoli three times and have never won, losing twice and drawing once.

Those two defeats came under Klopp and the German will be desperate to change that run tonight.

Liverpool have been patchy in the Premier League to start the season and starting the Champions League group stage with a win is vital.

Liverpool predicted lineup

Alisson Becker is Liverpool’s undoubted first-choice goalkeeper and should start once again tonight.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is almost undroppable at right back whilst Andrew Robertson should come back in at left back having been on the bench against Everton on Saturday.

Virgil van Dijk is likely to start but this may be a great chance for Joel Matip to get some minutes under his belt after a recent injury lay-off.

Joe Gomez hasn’t done anything wrong but Matip needs to play again and tonight could be a great chance.

Fabinho should feature in midfield with James Milner and Harvey Elliott supporting him.

Klopp would surely love to rest Elliott but he isn’t exactly blessed with options.

Jordan Henderson and Fabio Carvalho are injured, as are Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who aren’t even registered for the Champions League.

It feels too early to stick Stefan Bajcetic into the team whilst Arthur Melo is lacking in match fitness.

That means Fabinho, Milner and Elliott may have to play unless Klopp switches to a 4-2-3-1 with Roberto Firmino as a number 10.

We’re backing Klopp to stick with a 4-3-3, with Darwin Nunez leading the attack.

Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz will then play out wide, leaving the likes of Firmino and Diogo Jota on the bench.

Liverpool predicted lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Milner, Elliott; Salah, Nunez, Diaz.
