Rangers manager Steven Gerrard wants to bring Brewster on loan from his former club Liverpool in the summer transfer window, according to a report in The Scottish Sun in June.
The 20-year-old striker spent the second half of the past season on loan at Swansea in the Championship from the Reds.
The youngster is going back to the Reds, and he has spoken highly of his time at the Liberty Stadium, adding that he does not know where he will be next season.
Brewster told Swansea’s official website: “I have loved every moment of it, I love the club, I love the fans, I love the staff, I love everybody here.
“I don’t know what is going to happen next year but if I don’t come back Swansea will always be in my heart.
“I’ll be Swansea forever and I will always keep tabs on them no matter what. I just hope that the boys just go for it again next season.”
Rangers transfer this summer?
Brewster did well during his loan spell at Swansea, as the youngster scored 11 goals in 22 Championship games, according to WhoScored.
It is hard to see the Englishman break into the Liverpool starting lineup next season given the quality of attacking players at the disposal of manager Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds are likely to send the England Under-21 international out on loan again for next season, but perhaps Swansea will hold an advantage over Rangers.
While Gerrard knows Liverpool well, Brewster did well at the Swans, and the Welsh club’s manager Steve Cooper recently told BBC Sport that he wants to have him back on loan at the club, stating that “he definitely thrives off the belief we give him”.
