Liverpool winger Diogo Jota has told the club’s official website that he is happy to hear what manager Jurgen Klopp recently said about him.
Last Saturday, Liverpool boss Klopp raved about the former Wolverhampton Wanderers star on the Reds’ official website.
The German said: “It is not too much about what he’s brought in the team. He is a good player, that’s why we signed him. I said it only a few minutes ago when I was speaking with my coaches that it is so easy – he is such a likeable person and so it is so easy to like him. That makes everything easier.”
Klopp made the aforementioned remarks about Jota following Liverpool’s Premier League match against Sheffield United at Anfield last Saturday.
Jota has responded to those comments from Klopp, and he has also reacted to Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders describing him as “a pressing monster”.
The winger told Liverpool’s official website regarding Klopp’s comments: “Obviously when I heard those kind of words from a person like him, it made me happy. When I first joined the club, I always tried to do my best on the pitch but also off the pitch. I try to have a good relationship with everyone, so when I heard those words I think I am doing those things well. That’s what I will always try to do.”
Regarding Lijnders’s remarks, Jota said: “Well, I know what he means by that. I also understand it like a message to me because I knew that this [pressing] is a characteristic of Liverpool’s game. I always try to see it like messages that we need to understand and to put onto the playing field.”

How has Diogo Jota done at Liverpool so far?
Jota joined Liverpool from Premier League rivals Wolves in the summer of 2020 for an initial transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £41 million.
The 23-year-old winger has already started to make an impact for the defending Premier League champions and is proving to be a valuable player for Klopp.
According to WhoScored, the Portugal international has scored two goals in four Premier League matches and has scored one goal in 112 minutes of Champions League football for the Reds so far this season.
