Liverpool drew 1-1 with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League at White Hart Lane in a game that theymight argue they should have won after leading and squandering several chances.
Here are how the Reds players rated in the draw.
Simon Mignolet – 7/10
The Liverpool keeper was rarely tested by Spurs in the opening period as the hosts struggled to conjure up any clear-cut chances, but he stepped up when called upon to deny Toby Alderweireld from equalising with an outstanding save.
The Belgian still looks characteristically shaky at times and perhaps could have done better for Danny Rose’s equaliser after rushing off his line, but overall, it was a decent display.
Nathaniel Clyne – 5.5/10
An uncharacteristically underwhelming performance from the England right-back as he offered little at either end of the pitch. His final ball was not up to standard and he was nowhere to be seen as Rose strolled in to level things up.
Dejan Lovren – 7/10
Generally strong at the back with some tough challenges, though he did nearly allow Harry Kane to open the scoring early on. Still, an assured performance that was only slightly dampened by a soft yellow card for a foul on Vincent Jansen.

Joel Matip – 7.5/10
A very encouraging league debut from the former Schalke man is positive news for Liverpool fans as he looked confident and coped with the physicality of Kane and Jansen rather well.
Perhaps should have doubled his side’s lead as his glancing header clipped the bar from inside the six-yard box. Overall, he was organised, positive and should only grow in confidence the more games he plays.
James Milner – 7.5/10
Deployed at left-back in place of the notoriously error-prone Alberto Moreno and coped far better than his Spanish teammate often does. The somewhat unfamiliar role did expose the former England international to some questionable positioning at times but he recovered well by giving the Reds the lead from the spot just before half-time.
Perhaps could have done better to prevent Eric Dier’s cross leading to the equaliser but he put in a good shift and made some very good tackles as Spurs pushed forward.

Jordan Henderson – 6/10
Worked hard as always but he did look a little lost at times in the middle due to a lack of support. Henderson’s place in the side has come under scrutiny in recent weeks, particularly following the loss to Burnley, but at least this was an improvement.
Georginio Wijnaldum – 5/10
The Dutchman is still trying to find his feet in a Liverpool shirt as he offered little more than the odd neat touch and safe pass, although he could have won it late on when his tame shot deflected safely into the hands of Michel Vorm.
Notoriously underperformed away from home with Newcastle last season so perhaps an Anfield league debut is all he needs to get going.

Adam Lallana – 6/10
Looks more at home in the middle as his creative influence is made more effective, allowing him more space to pick out passes, even if they don’t always reach their destination. Was unfortunate to be given offside in the build-up to Sadio Mane’s disallowed goal.
Sadio Mane – 7.5/10
The Senegalese winger is Liverpool’s most positive attacking threat at the moment with his pace, trickery and driving runs at the defence. Tottenham struggled to deal with his directness, particularly in the first half though he did fade as the game went on. Had a goal rightly disallowed, but he did switch off to allow Rose to drive into the box and equalise.

Philippe Coutinho – 5.5/10
Could have scored twice in the first half but otherwise offered very little going forward, lacking any real cutting edge in what appeared to be just an off afternoon for the Brazilian playmaker.
Roberto Firmino – 7.5/10
Arguably Liverpool’s best player alongside Mane, Firmino may not be an out-and-out striker but he’s very intelligent and works tirelessly for the team. As good off the ball as he was on it, pressing throughout and also doing well to win a penalty after being clipped by Erik Lamela. A much better performance than many would likely give him credit for.

Substitutes:
Divock Origi (for Coutinho 69) – 5.5/10
Had over 20 minutes to make an impact but ultimately fell short as he still appears to be nursing the knock he picked up against Burton in midweek.
Daniel Sturridge (for Mane 88) – n/a
Came on too late to make any real impact.
Kevin Stewart (for Lallana 90+4) – n/a
Didn’t get a touch.
