Roberto Firmino has ‘liked’ an Instagram post about Philippe Coutinho reportedly looking to move back to Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

According to The Sunday World (print edition, back page, June 14, 2020), Coutinho, who spent the 2019-20 season on loan at Bayern Munich, wants to return to Liverpool this summer.

The Brazil international attacking midfielder is reportedly ready to take a pay-cut to return to the Reds.

The 28-year-old, who can also operate as a winger, was a huge success during his time at Liverpool before he earned the move to Barcelona.

Firmino played with Coutinho at Liverpool, and the 28-year-old Brazil international attacker – who is a key figure in the current team – has ‘liked’ a post on Instagram which mentioned the story.

Meanwhile, Mainz Director Rouven Schroder has said that the German club are in talks with Liverpool over Taiwo Awoniyi.

Awoniyi – who was taken to hospital after suffering a concussion playing against Augsburg at the weekend, as reported by BBC Sport – joined Mainz on a season-long loan deal from Liverpool in the summer of 2019.

Schroder told Bild about Awoniyi, as translated by Goal.com: “We are in an exchange with Liverpool, that is an open position. We are now waiting for the last games. Then we’ll see what the next steps are.”
