Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson has stated on Twitter that Aston Villa deserve to be higher up in the Premier League table.
Robertson made the comment after Liverpool got the better of Villa 2-0 at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday.
After a goalless first half, Sadio Mane put Jurgen Klopp’s side in the lead in the 71st minute, and Curtis Jones doubled the advantage in the 89th minute.
The result means that Villa are third from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with 27 points from 33 matches.
Dean Smith’s side are a point behind 17th-placed Watford and are in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
Robertson has praised his Liverpool teammate Jones on Twitter, and the Scotland international left-back believes that Dean Smith’s side should be much higher in the Premier League table.
Meanwhile, Villa attacking midfielder Jack Grealish has responded to Liverpool legend Graeme Souness’s criticism of him before the match, as quoted in The Mirror.
Pepe Reina, on loan at Villa from AC Milan at the moment, has sent a message to his former club Liverpool, and has also reacted to the defeat for the Villans.
