Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian has told El Desmarque that Arsenal loanee Daniel Ceballos would love to return to Real Betis.

Ceballos is on loan at Arsenal from Spanish and European giants Real Madrid at the moment.

The Spain international attacking midfielder is scheduled to return to his parent club Madrid at the end of the season.

Adrian has said Ceballos would love to go back to Betis, having joined Madrid from the Andalucian side in 2017.

The Liverpool goalkeeper himself started his professional club football career at Betis before moving to West Ham United in 2013.

Adrian told El Desmarque, as translated by Managing Madrid: “It’s his decision. I know that him being a Betis fan he would love to return.

“The situation would have to come to fruition because he’s a Real Madrid player, but you always like to come back home.

“I think if he has the chance to do that, considering that he’s still very young, he will have the chance to prove his worth. So why not?”

Future uncertain

Ceballos has had injury problems at Arsenal, and although there have been occasions when the Spanish attacking midfielder has done well, overall he has not been great for the North London outfit.

It is hard to see Arsenal sign the 23-year-old on a permanent contract this summer, given the economic uncertainty caused by the global health crisis.

Perhaps a return to Madrid and then an attempt to establish himself in Zinedine Zidane’s first team would be best for Ceballos.
