Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are reportedly planning to sign Gleison Bremer in the January transfer window, dealing a blow to Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte.

What’s the story?

Liverpool want to sign Bremer from Torino in the January transfer window, according to Torino Granata.

It has been reported that the former Premier League champions are planning to accelerate talks and bring the defender to Anfield in the middle of the season.

Torino are willing to sell the defender for €10 million (£8.53 million).

Blow for Tottenham Hotspur

Liverpool’s reported plan for Bremer is a blow for Tottenham head coach Conte.

Earlier this month, Tuttosport reported that Spurs boss Conte wants to sign Bremer.

We covered the report here on HITC Sport.

Earlier this week, Torino Granata reported that Liverpool are the favourites for the 24-year-old centre-back.

Strange signing for Liverpool?

In our view, Bremer is not a player Liverpool need right now.

The Brazilian is a centre-back.

Liverpool have enough players in central defence.

Remember, the Reds also signed Ibrahima Konate in the summer of 2021.

With the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Joep Matip, Joe Gomez and Konate to call upon, we do not think that Liverpool need to sign another centre-back right now.
