Paul Merson has said on Sky Sports News (12:44pm, February 12, 2022) that he would sell Sadio Mane before his Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool forwards Mane and Salah are out of contract at the end of next season.
Senegal international forward Mane is 29 now and will return 30 in April.
Salah, an Egypt international forward, is also 29 at the moment and will turn 30 in June.
Former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit Merson believes that if he had to sell one of Salah and Mane, then he could cash in on the later.
The Sky Sports pundit made the comments while analysing Liverpool signing Luiz Diaz from FC Porto in the January transfer window and the brilliant performances of Diogo Jota.
Merson said on Sky Sports News (12:44pm, February 12, 2022) when asked the question: “I couldn’t let Salah go. I’m sorry, I couldn’t let Salah go. I just think that the lad is a on different planet to a lot of players at the moment, a lot of players.”

Liverpool should keep both Salah and Mane
In our view, Liverpool should keep both Salah and Mane and should hand them new contracts.
Yes, it will be expensive.
After all, Salah and Mane will want pay-rise, as their next deals are likely to be the biggest of their careers.
In our opinion, Liverpool should not sell either in the summer of 2022 and must keep them for the next few years.
Both Salah and Mane are at the top of their game, and Liverpool cannot weaken themselves by selling either of them.
It has taken Liverpool a long time to get back to this level, and they simply cannot afford to take a few steps back now.
