Liverpool and Tottenham have both been linked to Alex Grimaldo.

Grimaldo left Barcelona for Benfica in 2015 and has established himself as a star in his own right, and is being linked with a move due to his impressive performances.

Tottenham are not the only Premier League team showing an interest, with Liverpool already one step ahead of them.
It is a steep fee for the 22-year-old, but one the Reds should strongly consider paying.
Alberto Moreno has not lived up to expectations in his three year stint at Anfield, and Andy Robertson is a useful option but not a clear cut first choice.

Grimaldo would be an ideal replacement for Moreno, and Liverpool’s need for a left-back is more pressing than Tottenham’s.
Danny Rose’s future is uncertain, but Spurs already have the impressive Ben Davies ready to step in, who was putting in solid claims to be the club’s first choice earlier this season.
Tottenham should be resistant to spending £35 million on left-back even if they net a big fee for Rose. For Liverpool, who’s interest is already established, the need is more pressing.
