Conor Gallagher, the versatile young midfielder from Chelsea, has been a hot topic in the transfer market, with several clubs vying for his signature.
Liverpool are the latest club to enter the race to sign Gallagher, according to The Mail. The 22-year-old had a breakthrough season last on loan at Crystal Palace, impressing fans and critics with his impressive displays in the middle of the park.
Gallagher is certainly a player who looks ready to cut the mustard at the top level, and he’d be great for a club like Liverpool.
However, don’t just take our word for it, one of Liverpool’s greatest-ever players is a fan of Gallagher too.
Kenny Dalglish, a Liverpool legend and former manager, has praised Gallagher in the past, highlighting his potential to become a key player in the future.

Dalglish a huge fan
Dalglish spoke highly of Gallagher in his Sunday Post column.
“Conor has had four loan moves while on Chelsea’s books but it was in the past two years that he really came to the fore,” Dalglish said.
“In 2020-21, he was bright and bubbly at West Brom. Then last season at Crystal Palace he really lit the place up. He was brilliant for Patrick Vieira’s team as they finished a creditable 12th in the Premier League.
“Conor is 22 and now plays for England. He has been very patient. His progress has been steady and he now looks the part of a Chelsea first-team player.”
Great addition
Gallagher was a key figure in Crystal Palace’s midfield last season and has even been capped by the England national team.
Despite his impressive performances, Chelsea is reportedly willing to let him go, giving Liverpool the chance to bolster their squad.
The Merseyside club is in need of reinforcements in the midfield after watching their established stars decline in recent weeks, and Gallagher could be the perfect addition.
Everton and Newcastle have also been linked to Gallagher, but Liverpool’s interest in the player has raised the stakes. With the transfer window closing in just a few hours, it will be interesting to see where Gallagher ends up and if Liverpool are successful in their pursuit of the young midfielder.
