Rangers have been linked with a move to lure Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke to Ibrox.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool will keep hold of striker Divock Origi – and will subsequently be open to loaning out Dominic Solanke for a hefty loan fee.
The Reds made it three wins from three with a 1-0 home victory over Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday evening, with Mohamed Salah on the scoresheet once again.
The Reds look to be strong right now, with Klopp able to bring Daniel Sturridge on to boost his attack late on, and it seems that he will have another striker stay at Anfield too.
The Liverpool Echo report that Liverpool are set to keep striker Divock Origi after talks over a move to Borussia Dortmund broke down, with the Reds unwilling to loan the Belgian out, instead only being interested in a sale.
Origi staying has a knock-on effect for Dominic Solanke, as it’s claimed that Liverpool will now be open to loaning him out if they receive a sizeable offer, with Roberto Firmino, Sturridge and Origi all ahead of him.
Solanke, 20, is a hot prospect for the future but it unlikely to receive much playing time right now, and the Daily Mirror’s live blog (Thursday 9th August, 05:31) recently claimed that Rangers were hoping to persuade him to make the move to Ibrox.
A move would’ve made sense; Liverpool legend and former youth coach Steven Gerrard is in charge of Rangers, and he has already signed two Reds talents in Ovie Ejaria and Ryan Kent.
However, Gerrard snapped up Kyle Lafferty from Rangers earlier this week, adding him to Alfredo Morelos and Umar Sadiq, meaning signing a fourth striker would be non-sensical, and should put an end to any Solanke rumours – even if he may now actually be available.
