Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are determined to keep Kostas Tsimikas beyond the end of his current contract, according to a report.
Liverpool want Kostas Tsimikas to sign new contract
Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Liverpool are in talks with Kostas Tsimikas over getting a new deal done.
Tsimikas has been on the books of Liverpool since the summer of 2020 when he joined from Olympiacos.
The 27-year-old Greece international left-back is under contract at the Merseyside club until the summer of 2025.
Romano has said that Liverpool will continue to discuss terms over a new deal with the £65,000-a-week (SalarySport) 27-year-old left-back.
Liverpool should look at someone better than Kostas Tsimikas
In our view, Liverpool need to find a left-back who is better than Kostas Tsimikas and can eventually replace Andy Robertson in the first team.
Robertson is the number one left-back at Liverpool at the moment.
The Scotland international has been the first-choice left-back at Anfield for a number of years now.
And that is not going to change anytime soon.

However, Liverpool need to think of the future.
Robertson is 29 now.
The Reds need a left-back in his early 20s who can genuinely compete with Robertson and eventually replace him in the starting lineup.
Tsimikas is 27 at the moment.
It is hard to see the Greece international become anything more than a squad player at Liverpool.
Tsimikas has made 36 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The left-back has scored no goals, has given six assists, and has kept four clean sheets.
Robertson has made 256 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The left-back has scored eight goals, given 57 assists, and kept 77 clean sheets in those games.
