Liverpool believe Chelsea defender Levi Colwill wants to join this summer and are confident of striking a deal.
Levi Colwill is becoming a top target for Liverpool this summer as they believe the Chelsea defender wants to sign.
That is according to 90Min, who report that Liverpool feel confident that they can sign Colwill.
Chelsea have so far been adamant that Colwill isn’t going anywhere this summer.
Brighton and Hove Albion – the club where Colwill spent last season on loan – have failed to secure a permanent deal.
Liverpool seemingly think they can get a deal done though with Colwill now inside the final two years of his deal.
Colwill is yet to commit to a new contract and Liverpool believe he wants the move to Anfield.
Colwill fears he won’t be given the playing time he needs at Chelsea and that is giving Liverpool hope of a deal this summer.

Levi Colwill could be Liverpool’s left-sided centre back of the future
Whilst most teams have been going for left-footed centre backs in recent years, Liverpool haven’t really done down that route.
Look at the big Premier League sides and you see left-footed central defenders everywhere, from Nathan Ake to Gabriel Magalhaes, Lisandro Martinez and Benoit Badiashile.
Liverpool are bucking the trend at the moment though as their four main centre backs are all right-footers.
Virgil van Dijk likes playing on the left but is still predominantly right footed, just like Joel Matip, Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez.
Colwill would give Liverpool a natural left-footer for years to come, allowing the Reds to utilise some different angles when playing out from the back.
That may not sound all that important but managers have been placing a keen focus on that aspect and Colwill’s ability on the ball makes him superb in build-up play.

Major boost for Tottenham Hotspur
This news does also gave Tottenham Hotspur a boost.
The report highlights how Liverpool had been eyeing Micky van de Ven from Wolfsburg as an alternative target.
Yet with Colwill now their top target, Liverpool seemingly aren’t planning to move for Van de Ven.
Tottenham are very keen on the Dutchman and The Guardian reported earlier this week that Spurs are ‘confident’ of securing a deal.
Liverpool moving in for Colwill is only going to strengthen that belief with Van de Ven potentially North London-bound.
