Liverpool want Noah Okafor with the Red Bull Salzburg striker potentially boosting Jurgen Klopp’s attacking ranks with his ‘magnificent’ speed.

The Reds spent on Darwin Nunez over the summer and may look to keep hold of Roberto Firmino with his contract expiring next summer.

Yet with Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota’s injuries somewhat exposing the lack of depth in attack, Liverpool may well go for another attacker in 2023.

A versatile forward who can operate out wide and up front would be ideal and Liverpool appear to have found a target who fits the bill.

Liverpool want Noah Okafor

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reports that Liverpool are in the race to sign Red Bull Salzburg forward Noah Okafor.

It’s stated that Manchester City and AC Milan are also keen on Okafor but Salzburg are seeking a rather large fee.

Plettenberg suggests that Okafor could now cost up to €40million (£35million) with Salzburg eyeing a huge influx of cash.

Okafor, 22, has been outstanding this season with seven goals and one assist in 14 league games for Salzburg.

Okafor has continued his fine form into the Champions League, bagging three goals in six group stage games.

The Swiss attacker could now make a big move in 2023 and Liverpool do love signing players with ties to the Red Bull group.

Okafor may fit the bill especially because Klopp would surely love the pace he can provide in the final third.

Former Swiss Under-21 boss Mauro Lustrinelli worked closely with Okafor and had great words for him whilst speaking to Le Matin last year.

Lustrinelli praised the ‘magnificent’ speed Okafor possesses alongside this ‘technical qualities’ and his power.

Lustrinelli also hailed Okafor’s improvement in terms of his pressing ability and backed him to have an ‘extraordinary’ career moving forward.

Pace and pressing ability is exactly what Liverpool will be looking for and Okafor could emerge as a key target for Klopp and co moving into 2023.
