Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, Celtic and Newcastle United are interested in signing Hamilton Academical defender Jamie Hamilton, according to TEAMtalk.

TEAMtalk have reported that Liverpool, Celtic and Newcastle are among a number of clubs who are keen on signing Hamilton.

Hibernian, Celtic, Brighton and Hove Albion, Brentford and Burnley are among the other clubs keen on the right-side defender.

Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards reportedly wants to sign Hamilton as a potential replacement for fellow defender Nathaniel Phillips, who could leave the Reds.

The Reds’ reported plan is for Hamilton to be part of the Under-23 set-up initially and provide first-team cover if need be.

Liverpool or Celtic for Jamie Hamilton?

In our view, if both Liverpool and Celtic make an offer for Hamilton, then it is likely that he will choose the Reds.

As reported by TEAMtalk, the Scottish teenager is out of contract at Hamilton at the end of the season.

Liverpool are a wealthy club who would be very tempting to Hamilton.

Yes, Celtic are big as well, but the chance to play in the Premier League and in the Champions League on a regular could be very tempting for Hamilton.

Hamilton has made 15 starts and one substitute appearance in the Scottish Championship so far this season, scoring two goals in the process.
