New Liverpool signing Fabinho has sat down to talk about the feeling of playing for the club.

Monaco midfielder Fabinho from Brasil during the Friendly match between Sporting CP and AS Monaco at Estadio Jose Alvalade on July 22, 2017 in Lisbon, Portugal.

Speaking to FourFourTwo magazine, new Anfield midfielder Fabinho has revealed it is nothing short of an honour to be able to wear the red of Liverpool.

The Brazilian joined the club from AS Monaco in a £43.7 million move as reported by the Telegraph, and recently participated in his first training session at Melwood.

The 24-year-old has been pictured in and around the Liverpool training facilities getting to know his new environment, and he is already being put through his paces on the pitch as the Reds try to get ahead of the game for 2018/19.

The defensive midfielder, who can also operate at right-back, is definitely pleased to be embarking on his new chapter, and has been speaking with FourFourTwo about his decision to join the club.

He said: “Yes, [it was] very easy. I was sad to leave Monaco, a club that gave me a lot of great moments, but in football sometimes you need new challenges and I thought it was time to move on.

“As soon as Liverpool declared their interest in signing me, it was a simple decision to make. A club with Liverpool’s history wants you? Come on, you just pack your bags and go. It will be an honour to wear the famous red shirt.

As quoted further by Liverpool’s official website, Fabinho, who won a Ligue 1 title with Monaco in 2017, added: “Perhaps we can win the Champions League; we were so close to winning it last season. I’m optimistic about the future and I’m looking forward to winning a lot of titles with Liverpool.”

Fabinho is an astute piece of business by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, and could work well in tandem with Jordan Henderson to allow Naby Keita to press from further forward.

With Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain sidelined until around November with injury, and Adam Lallana having struggled for fitness and consistency, there is a real chance for Fabinho to prove himself a hit with the Liverpool fans right from the off.
