Manchester City are reportedly lining up a summer swoop for long-term Liverpool target Isco.

According to a report from the Sun, Manchester City are lining up a £75 million bid for Real Madrid star Isco in the summer, and that should be enough for Liverpool to kick into gear, and intensify their interest in the Spaniard.

The Reds sold Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona in January, and they are still yet to replace the mercurial Brazilian.

The Citizens, meanwhile, have an embarrassment of riches in the attacking midfield department, and it could be argued that they don’t actually need Isco.

Barcelona won 3-2.

The Sun claim that Pep Guardiola is a big fan of the 25-year-old, though, and is prepared to pay £75 million to acquire his services in the summer.

Jürgen Klopp and Liverpool must do everything within their power to prevent Isco from heading to the Etihad.

The Spain international is at his most effective when operating in the wide left position, and he possesses all of the attributes required to be the perfect Coutinho replacement at Anfield.

Whilst £75 million for Isco sounds like a lot of money on the face of it, in today’s ludicrously inflated transfer market, it would actually represent good value.

After-all, it is the same amount that Liverpool paid for Virgil Van Dijk.

Many fancy the Reds to make a real sustained push for the Premier League title next season, and by signing Isco, they would seriously enhance their chances of doing just that.
