Nottingham Forest want Neco Williams and he may be the only senior player to leave Liverpool between now and the end of the transfer window.

Forest have snapped up a former Liverpool talent in Taiwo Awoniyi with the striker arriving from Union Berlin last weekend.

Steve Cooper will now want more signings to bolster the Forest squad and a right wing back will be absolutely vital.

Djed Spence was only on loan from Middlesbrough and he looks set to sign for Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Spence made a huge impact for Forest and finding a quality replacement won’t be easy.

Nottingham Forest want Neco Williams

One of the main names in the frame appears to be another player with Liverpool ties in Neco Williams.

The Wales international is back with Liverpool this summer after spending the second half of last season on loan at Fulham.

Williams impressed at Fulham but Marco Silva’s side are also looking at Djibril Sidibe and Kevin Mbabu.

That leaves the door open for Forest to move in for Williams – but their first bid has been rejected with Liverpool seeking a fee of £15million.

Williams, 21, won’t come cheap for Forest but the chance to play with his Welsh international Brennan Johnson may appeal.

The Telegraph now claim that Liverpool expect Williams to be the only first-team player to leave the club this summer.

Divock Origi has already gone and Liverpool aren’t actively looking to ship out midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Williams leaving would seemingly bring an end to Liverpool’s summer business, with a replacement already secured in Scottish talent Calvin Ramsay.

Forest will now hope to make sure that they remain ahead of Fulham in the race for Williams.

Fulham have plates spinning for their right back role and whilst that is going on, Forest would be wise to go straight back in with a new bid for Williams.
