Liverpool are eyeing Mykhaylo Mudryk but seemingly have reservations about negotiating with Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Reds are bound to be in the market for a number of signings in 2023.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have struggled to hit top form this season and there needs to be some new energy in the squad.

Fans want new midfielders brought in but Liverpool may also go for a new winger to bolster Klopp’s options in the final third.

Liverpool are eyeing Mykhaylo Mudryk

Injuries to Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota have shown that Liverpool may well need another winger to make an impact in attack.

There have been strange links to Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha but that move feels unlikely.

Liverpool are more likely to go for an up-and-coming talent and Shakhtar Donetsk ace Mykhaylo Mudryk fits the bill.

Mudryk has been outstanding in the Champions League, racking up three goals and two assists in just six group stage games.

Add in the four goals and five assists in seven league games for Shakhtar and you can see why many are hyped over the winger.

The 21-year-old is predominantly a left-sided winger and his ability to drive at defenders on the counter attack must appeal to Klopp and co, having been branded as an ‘incredible’ dribbler in Ukraine.

CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs has now taken to Twitter to claim that Liverpool do have Mudryk on their radar and have been watching him this season.

Jacobs claims though that Liverpool won’t pay above market value and are wary that Shakhtar aren’t easy to negotiate with when it comes to transfers.

Liverpool have wanted Shakhtar players in the past – Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Teixeira spring to mind – but neither ended up at Anfield.

Shakhtar are now chasing a huge fee for Mudryk and Liverpool don’t want to get involved in a bidding war for the outstanding winger.

Other clubs are interested in Mudryk too and he recently admitted to CBS Sports Golazo that he couldn’t say no to joining Arsenal.

The Gunners have been chasing Mudryk for a while now and Liverpool could emerge as a contender for his signature.
