Liverpool should attempt to hijack Tottenham Hotspur’s reported interest in the Roma ace.

Tottenham are interested in signing Roma ace Lorenzo Pellegrini, according to Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato, but surely Liverpool should be in the race to land the midfielder.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp will surely be looking to bolster his ranks at Anfield this summer, and one area where he will be particularly keen to strengthen is central midfield, with more quality and guile needed in the middle fo the park.
The 23-year-old is a real talent, and his exceptional technical ability would undoubtedly prove to be a real asset for Liverpool.
Pellegrini racked up four goals and seven assists in 33 appearances for Roma last term – impressive numbers for a central midfielder.
Liverpool have plenty of options in central midfield, but most of them are defensive-minded, and the Tottenham-linked Roma star would give them an entirely different dimension.
He would help the Reds improve upon the fluidity of their play through the middle of the pitch, and he would actually be a fairly cheap option for Klopp.
According to Calcio Mercato, Pellegrini has a €35 million (£31 million) release cause inserted into his current contract with Roma, and that would represent superb value for money for Liverpool.

The Italian is also at an age where his value will only increase, and Klopp will surely be able to work his magic and get the best out of him.
Pellegrini is a really exciting talent, and he would fit right in at Anfield. Whether Liverpool can beat Tottenham to his signature, however, remains to be seen.
