Hertha Berlin’s Mitchell Weiser is a reported target for Tottenham.
Liverpool may have swept Hertha Berlin aside in a 3-0 pre-season friendly win over the weekend, but one player from the Bundesliga player caught the eye.
The Reds coasted to victory thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah, Dominic Solanke and Georginio Wijnaldum, though Hertha did pose problems to the Liverpool defence.

The main threat for Hertha was Mitchell Weiser, whose work down the right hand side of the pitch was even praised by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp after the final whistle.
Klopp told German newspaper Bild that Hertha’s play down the right was dangerous, mostly thanks to the influence of Weiser, who Klopp singled out for recognition, before Weiser even suggested that he wants to play against teams like Liverpool on a permanent basis.
“The right side of Hertha gave us a lot of problems. This was due to the quality of Hertha, especially coming from Mitchell Weiser,” said Klopp.
“I love playing against such players. I can see what is missing and where I can keep up.I want to play at this level permanently,” added Weiser.
That may be something of a come-and-get-me plea from Weiser to Premier League clubs, and one team linked with a move for the right back, who can also play on the right of midfield, is Tottenham Hotspur.
Sky Sports suggested last month that Spurs have been monitoring Weiser as they weigh up signing a new right back following Kyle Walker’s move to Manchester City – but they may have to move quickly now.

His performance against Liverpool caught the eye of manager Klopp, and whilst a move to Anfield looks unlikely due to the presence Nathaniel Clyne and Trent Alexander-Arnold, his comments have put Weiser in the spotlight.
Add in that Weiser has hinted that he may fancy a Premier League move, it’s becoming clear that the former Bayern Munich youngster is set for a big future – and as he continues to turn heads, Spurs have to be weighing up a move for the 23-year-old, who could be perfect as a right wing back in Mauricio Pochettino’s 3-4-2-1 system, before another team swoops in and takes him.
