Gary Neville has said on Sky Sports that Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is “disrespected globally”.
The former Manchester United defender made the comments while pointing out that Liverpool forward Salah does not get recognition when it comes to winning individual awards.
The former Chelsea attacker was not in the EA Sports FIFA 22 TOTY.
The 29-year-old forward finished in seventh place in the 2021 Ballon d’Or.
Salah finished third in the running for the 2021 Best FIFA Men’s Player award.
Neville said about Salah on Sky Sports: “It does feel like he is disrespected globally when it comes to these types of awards.”
Liverpool star Mo Salah is world class
In our view, Salah is a world-class footballer who is a key figure at Liverpool.
The Egypt international forward has been superb for the Reds over the past few years.
And there are no signs that Salah is slowing down.
Salah is at the top of his game at the age of 29, and, in our view, he is going to be in his prime for a few more years at least.
The Liverpool no. 11 has scored 113 goals in 178 Premier League appearances so far in his career.
The forward has scored 16 goals and given nine assists in 20 Premier League games and has scored seven goals in six Champions League matches for Jurgen Klopp’s side so far this season.
