Liverpool hero Mohamed Salah was back to his best against Manchester United with even Gary Neville raving about his performance.

Liverpool embarrassed United for the second time this season by racking up another huge win.

After beating United 5-0 at Old Trafford in October, Liverpool picked up another huge win over their old rivals.

Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah had Liverpool 2-0 up before half time. Sadio Mane made it 3-0 and Salah added number four to round off a perfect night.

Liverpool continue their push for a stunning quadruple this season, and having Salah back firing again is a major boost.

Before Tuesday’s game against United, Salah had gone more than two months without scoring a non-penalty goal in the Premier League.

Some were worried about Salah’s form. With contract uncertainty hanging over him – and the tiredness that comes with playing at the Africa Cup of Nations – a drop-off was understandable.

Salah was back to his true best against United though, starting with a darting run and assist for Diaz’s goal.

Salah then produced two trademark finishes to seal the game, securing a 4-0 Liverpool win in style.

Liverpool will now hope that Salah can use this game as a platform to go on a goalscoring streak between now and the end of the season.

After all, Salah firing on all cylinders makes Liverpool’s quadruple dream seem all the more likely.

Having fired Liverpool’s fourth goal, Salah then received enormous praise from pundit Gary Neville.

Speaking to Sky Sports (19/04, 9:45pm), Neville suggested that you just fancy Salah to finish any chance no matter how difficult.

Neville added that Salah looked absolute ‘class’ from the very first whistle against United – and that stayed until the final whistle.

“He still has a bit to do, Salah, but you just fancy him,” said Neville. “He’s looked class from minute one tonight,” he added.
