It wasn’t Mohamed Salah’s night on Tuesday, and Adam Lallana is hoping the Liverpool star doesn’t bounce back against Brighton and Hove Albion this weekend.
Liverpool took on Inter Milan on Tuesday night, looking to seal their passage into the last eight of the Champions League.
Having won 2-0 in Milan last month, Liverpool just had to get through Tuesday’s game without any disasters.
Inter did claim a 1-0 win thanks to a Lautaro Martinez screamer but any hopes of a rousing fightback were dashed by Alexis Sanchez’s red card.
Liverpool may have lost their unbeaten home run but they are through to the quarter-finals and that’s the most important thing.
It wasn’t vintage Liverpool and Salah will absolutely have felt like things were going against him.
Salah hit the woodwork not once but twice, suffering a frustrating night in front of goal as the ball just wouldn’t go in for him.
We’re not used to seeing that, especially this season; more often than not, Salah shoots and Salah scores.
The Egyptian wasn’t too bothered after the final whistle, seemingly feeling that whilst two shots hit the woodwork against Inter, three could go in next time out.
Liverpool’s next game comes against Brighton and Hove Albion this weekend and Adam Lallana heard those comments last night.

Lallana was working as a pundit for BBC Radio Five Live on Tuesday and discussed Salah’s comments about expecting more goals soon.
“I hope not, because they’ve got Brighton at the weekend!” said Lallana, clearly fearing being dismantled by his former Liverpool teammate.
Lallana likely knows that Brighton risk running into something of a wounded animal, with Salah no doubt desperate to score after his frustrating night against Inter.
Lallana will be echoing the thoughts of Brighton fans everywhere, with the Seagulls hoping to keep Salah quiet rather than see him rack up the goals.
