Milot Rashica rejected Liverpool in 2020 but now finds himself on the move to Turkish side Galatasaray after Norwich City’s relegation.
If you cast your mind back to 2020, Liverpool were being linked with a number of potential attacking additions.
The COVID pandemic had hit England but transfer rumours continued to surround Liverpool.
Timo Werner was the main name linked but he ended up joining Chelsea instead.
We now know that the man Liverpool went for was Diogo Jota, and that move proved to be a great signing for the Reds – but what about another player Liverpool eyed?

Milot Rashica rejected Liverpool in 2020
A name Liverpool considered considered was Milot Rashica, who was playing for Werder Bremen at the time.
Rashica joined Bremen from Vitesse back in 2018 and showed real promise in the Netherlands.
The Kosovo international is quick and dangerous in the final, whilst his ability to play across the front line was hugely appealing.
Sport Bild reported in 2020 that Rashica had rejected offers from Liverpool and AC Milan.
Rashica was so desperate to sign for RB Leipzig – possibly as a replacement for Werner – that he was snubbing other offers.
Rashica was left standing at the end of the window though as Liverpool and Milan went for other targets and so did Leipzig, leaving Rashica at Bremen after all.
A move to England did arrive in 2021 though as Norwich City pounced to sign Rashica following Bremen’s relegation.
Rashica didn’t exactly show Liverpool what they were missing, scoring just one goal in 31 Premier League outings for the Canaries.
Ironically though, that one goal did come against Liverpool at Anfield!
Norwich have now decided to offload Rashica, sanctioning a loan deal last week that saw him join Galatasaray for the season.
Rashica made his debut for Galatasaray on Sunday – even though Norwich only confirmed the move on Monday – coming on for seven minutes in a 3-2 win over Kasimpasa.
The 26-year-old now needs to get his career back on track, with a loan move to Turkey a far cry from the alleged offer to join Liverpool.
The Reds certainly won’t feel that they missed out on anything special in Rashica, and will be very happy to have ended up signing Jota instead.
