Liverpool midfielder Fabinho’s protracted transfer to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad seems back on again after it seemed the deal was stalling with there being reported complications around the deal.
According to James Pearce of The Athletic, the Brazilian midfielder, who earns £180,000 a week according to Spotrac, has been left out of Liverpool’s squad for their pre-season tour of Singapore and it seems the move is back on again after days of concern around the deal.
The report from Pearce states that negotiations have resumed with all parties hopeful a deal can be agreed for the 29-year-old midfielder to make the move to the Middle East.
One of Fabinho’s former teammates, Jordan Henderson has also completed his protracted move to the Middle East linking up with Steven Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq. Liverpool announced the departure of the midfielder on social media following the midfielder joining up with his new teammates for training yesterday.
The Brazilian’s impending exit could see Liverpool complete the deal to sign Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia, with the Saints demanding £50 million for the midfielder’s signature.
Fabinho to link up with N’golo Kante and Karim Benzema
Fabinho will see some familiar faces once he completes his move to Al-Ittihad. Former Chelsea and Leicester City midfielder N’golo Kante joined the club this summer and the Saudi side also pulled off the audacious signing of forward Karim Benzema a few months back, after the forward decided to move on from Real Madrid.

The midfielder would be the next signing to begin the new era for football in the Middle East. The midfielder, due to Kante’s arrival, however, could actually start the season at right-back.
Jose Mourinho, during his time in Madrid, gave Fabinho his debut as a right-back, so the versatility is there for the Brazilian to be a good fit in Nuno Espirito Santo’s team, despite the Portuguese manager famously favouring a five-at-the-back formation.
