Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has sent a message to the fans on Twitter.

The Netherlands international has said that he and his teammates will miss not having the Liverpool supporters inside stadiums to cheer them on.

However, the 29-year-old has said that the players will do everything to make the Liverpool fans “proud”.

The former Newcastle United midfielder made the post on Twitter following the announcement that the Premier League could be back next month.

As reported by BBC Sport and announced on Premier League’s official Twitter page, the English top flight is set to restart on June 17, subject to approval from the UK government.

Meanwhile, striker Rhian Brewster, on loan at Swansea City from Liverpool at the moment, is looking forward to getting back in action for the Championship club.

Soon-to-be champions

Liverpool are just two matches away from winning the Premier League title this season.

While it would have been great for the Anfield faithful to watch the team in action at grounds, it would still be quite something for them to enjoy the Reds winning the title for the first time in the Premier League era.
