Chelsea are really pushing to land Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams with a deal now ‘increasingly likely’ to materialise.

Tyler Adams is increasingly likely to become a Chelsea player with Leeds United on the verge of losing their midfielder.

That is according to The Athletic’s Phil Hay, who claims that Chelsea are now looking likely to sign Adams.

It’s claimed that Chelsea are ready to step up their pursuit of Adams this week in the hope of getting him on board.

Chelsea need midfield support having allowed N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek to leave this summer.

Add in Jorginho’s exit in January and Chelsea are really lacking midfield depth.

Mauricio Pochettino needs more options in midfield and Adams is now being targeted as a player to provide competition for places.

This comes after the Daily Mail reported over the weekend that Chelsea were ready to activate the £20million release clause in Adams’ contract.

This deal seems to be moving closer and Chelsea will hope to get Adams signed before facing Liverpool this weekend.

Chelsea ready to beat Premier League rivals to Tyler Adams

Not many Leeds players came out of last season with credit but Adams was one of them.

A tireless midfielder, Adams provided outstanding defensive support in midfield and even excelled at the World Cup in Qatar.

The United States star has been targeted by a number of Premier League clubs but Chelsea are set to win the race.

90Min reported in May that Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur all wanted Adams.

Liverpool’s interest was again mentioned earlier today as the Daily Mail stated that the Reds, Bournemouth, Aston Villa, Brighton and Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest are all interested.

That’s more than a third of the Premier League have been chasing Adams but it’s Chelsea who are poised to swoop and give Todd Boehly an American star.
