A selection of the latest stories in the media involving Liverpool Football Club this Friday morning.

Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling is apparently keen on a move to Manchester United, according to a report in the Guardian, with the 20-year-old seemingly determined to force through a move away from Anfield this summer.

Manager Brendan Rodgers has been adamant that he won’t be sold during the summer transfer window after rejecting a new contract offer, and with the club recently cancelling a meeting with Sterling following alleged comments from his representative – suggesting the determination for him to be moved on from Anfield.

However, the Liverpool Echo has reported the Reds will not do business with their fierce rivals – who are about to return with a £25 million bid for Sterling following an initial enquiry.

The Reds announced the capture of James Milner on a free transfer yesterday from Manchester City, but the Daily Express – among other sources – reports that it depended on the future of Brendan Rodgers.

Rodgers was told his job was safe for another season after a meeting with members of Fenway Sports Group – who own the club – earlier on in the week.

The report also gives and update on a potential deal for Danny Ings, saying the signing of the Burnley striker is close to being announced.

The Reds will reportedly try to strike a deal with the Clarets when it comes to the compensation fee they have to pay for the 22-year-old forward, to avoid the fee being set by a tribunal.

Finally, the Daily Telegraph reports there is a reshuffle of the coaching staff at Liverpool this summer, with Mike Marsh being let go from the backroom staff as Rodgers looks to freshen things up.
