A selection of the latest stories involving Liverpool Football Club this Wednesday morning.

Liverpool have opened contract talks with teenage forward Jerome Sinclair according to a report in the Daily Mail, but he is expected to spend time away from the club on loan next season.

Sinclair made a brief cameo appearance in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Sunday but had spent much of the second half of this season on loan at Wigan Athletic after impressing for the Liverpool Under-21 side.

Contract talks with Jordon Ibe have been shelved according to the Mail. They report that he was set to sign a new deal last month but they have put things off until the summer – though he is still expected to put pen to paper.

Manchester City are reportedly monitoring the negotiations taking place between the 19-year-old and Liverpool.

One player Liverpool have been linked with is Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke who is set to decide his future in June according to a report in the Daily Mirror.

The report says Villa won’t stand in the way of their talismanic forward if an offer of around £32 million is made for him, as he is not intending to sign an extension to the two years currently left on his contract.
