Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool have been linked with Jean Michael Seri of Nice in the summer of 2018.
However, it is Liverpool who are leading the chase for the central midfielder, who is claimed to be valued at £35 million, according to the British tabloid.
The 26-year-old Ivory Coast international central midfielder would be a good signing for Liverpool or Tottenham, and perhaps the Reds have the advantage over Spurs.
Competition for places in the Tottenham midfield is fierce, and Seri is not going to find it easy to establish himself as a first-team regular.
Spurs have one of the strongest midfield departments in the Premier League, with players such as Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama, and that could deter Seri from making the switch to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Liverpool, though, could have a slot available. True, Naby Keita will join from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2018, but Emre Can’s potential exit and the rather inconsistent performances of Jordan Henderson could allow Seri to find his way in.
According to The Sun, Can is on his way out of Liverpool, with Italian giants Juventus claimed to be favourites.
