Liverpool want Marcus Thuram and Fabrizio Romano claims the striker is really considering leaving Borussia Monchengladbach for free.
The Reds swooped to sign a new striker over the summer as Darwin Nunez arrived from Benfica.
Nunez is starting to really impress in the Premier League but Liverpool may still need another attacker.
Roberto Firmino is out of contract at the end of the season and injuries to both Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota may leave Jurgen Klopp wanting another front man.

Liverpool want Marcus Thuram
Liverpool may love to add a versatile forward who can play up front or out wide, covering multiple positions if needed in Klopp’s front three.
Given that this would likely be a signing for competition rather than an immediate starring role, Liverpool won’t want to break the bank.
One cut-price option could be Gladbach attacker Marcus Thuram.
Thuram is out of contract at the end of the season and currently doesn’t look likely to sign a new deal.
The 25-year-old has bagged 10 goals and three assists in 15 Bundesliga games for Gladbach this season, finding his best form once again.
Thuram looks likely to move on in 2023 and Fabrizio Romano claims it’s looking like the Frenchman will become a free agent.
Clubs may want to sign Thuram in a cut-price deal in January but Thuram may have other ideas.
Romano has told Caught Offside that he has been told that Thuram is really considering just letting his contract run down to become a free agent.
“I think there will be many rumours around Thuram as he’s good player available as potential free agent in the summer,” said Romano. “I’m told he could really leave on a free transfer, so he’ll consider all options in the next month,” he added.
There are benefits to letting that contract run down.
Thuram would be able to have his pick of the offers in the summer whilst being able to negotiate a big signing-on fee given the lack of transfer fee involved in his move.
Liverpool may not fancy getting into a fight with other clubs but Thuram may be setting himself up for something of an auction at the end of the season, becoming one of the hottest free agents on the market.
