Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told The Guardian that goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga is “an incredible talent”.

Klopp made the comments about Pitaluga while discussing the goalkeepers that he has at his disposal at Liverpool at the moment.

The Liverpool boss rates the 19-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper highly, and has said that he is the fourth-choice goalkeeper behind Alisson, Caoimhin Kelleher and Adrian.

Klopp told The Guardian: “I think everyone is impressed by the development of Caoimhin Kelleher, who is ready for pretty much everything.

“We all know about the quality of Adrián and the impact he has on training and in the dressing room and he would be always ready to go. Marcelo is an incredible talent, so the next one in line.”

Marcelo Pitaluga is a Liverpool gem

Pitaluga has been on the books of Liverpool since October 2020 when he joined from Brazilian club Fluminense in a permanent deal.

The goalkeeper was just 17 when he moved to the Reds and is training with the first team.

Alisson is the first-choice goalkeeper at Liverpool and is a Brazil international.

The former AS Roma goalkeeper has been hugely impressed by his Brazilian compatriot and has public spoken highly of him.

Pitaluga is only 19, and at this stage of his career, he need not worry about playing competitive games for Liverpool.

For now, the teenager should work hard in training and learn from Alisson.

Seeing Alisson on a regular basis in training and working with the Liverpool goalkeeping coaches will help the teenager a lot.

In our opinion, Pitaluga is a gem, and Liverpool fans will see a lot of him in the coming years.
