Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp feels people ‘obviously forget’ the work Sadio Mane puts in off the ball as he reaches 100 goals for the Reds.
Klopp’s men took on Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon, coasting to a 3-0 win over the Eagles.
Mane opened the scoring, bagging from close range after Mohamed Salah’s effort was saved.
Salah added a second himself before Naby Keita volleyed home number three, securing a convincing victory.
Mane hits number 100 for Liverpool
Mane’s opener against Palace took him to 100 goals for Liverpool across all competitions.
Since signing from Southampton for £34million, Mane has been pretty much undroppable.
Mane took a slight step back last season, but his numbers in a Liverpool shirt are phenomenal.
The 29-year-old has scored double figures in the Premier League in every season at Liverpool. In three of his five full seasons, Mane has hit more than 20 goals across all competitions.
Mohamed Salah takes the limelight in Liverpool’s attack, but Mane’s numbers – 100 goals in 224 games – are hugely impressive too.

Klopp comments on Mane success
Liverpool boss Klopp has now told the club’s official website that he thinks Mane has contributed a lot at Anfield.
Klopp actually thinks people around Liverpool ‘obviously forget’ about all the work Mane does off the ball and even creatively.
Klopp added that Mane is a ‘top player’, seemingly hoping that his pressing, defending and unselfish play around the box is remembered as much as the goals.
“He did, he did [contribute so much]. People obviously forget but around these 100 goals he worked incredibly hard, defended for us the wing, pressed high, counter-pressed, created goals, set up chances, all that kind of stuff,” said Klopp. “So the 100 goals are just one number, there are so many other numbers which are similarly important, but I’m really happy for him that he could reach that today.”
“Yeah, a massive achievement. In the glorious history of this club only 18 players – if that is right – scored 100 goals, that says a lot. Nowadays players are usually not that long in clubs so I am really happy that I could work now already for five years with Sad and he’s just a top player,” he added.
