Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are among the clubs interested in Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min, according to 90min.

What’s the story?

90min are reporting interest in Tottenham star Son from Liverpool and Manchester City.

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also reported to be admirers of the South Korea international.

However, it is unlikely now that Son will leave Spurs.

That’s because, according to the report, Tottenham are confident that the South Korea international will sign a new contract soon.

Tottenham’s new sporting director Fabio Paratici is determined to make sure that the 28-year-old puts pen to paper on a new deal.

Liverpool and Real Madrid to miss out

Both Liverpool and Madrid could do with freshening up their respective attacking departments.

Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino both struggled to score goals last season, and an argument could be made that the former Premier League champions need more competition in attack.

Karim Benzema is banging in the goals for fun at Madrid, but Eden Hazard has had injury problems.

Son is a versatile attacking player who can play out wide or down the middle.

The Tottenham no.7 scored 17 goals and gave 10 assists in the Premier League last season.

Former Madrid and Tottenham star Rafael van der Vaart told talkSPORT in March 2021that Son is “so good with both legs” and is “quick”.

However, it seems that both Liverpool and Madrid will miss out on Son.
