Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he is already expecting Manchester City to win all of their remaining Premier League games this season.

For some time, it looked like City had the Premier League title wrapped up and months of the season would be a procession.

Instead, we suddenly have a title race.

Liverpool beat Norwich City 3-1 on Saturday afternoon before City were beaten at home by Tottenham Hotspur.

Those results mean Liverpool have cut the gap at the top of the Premier League table to just six points – and the Reds have a game in hand.

That game in hand comes tonight as Liverpool host Leeds United at Anfield – a game you would expect the Reds to win.

Three points tonight would cut the gap to just three points, with Liverpool absolutely breathing down City’s neck.

With five wins in a row, Liverpool appear to be heating up at the right time and pose a major threat to City’s title hopes.

There is a huge game in the not-too-distant future too, as City host Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium on April 9th.

Klopp has now told Liverpool’s official website that the Reds ‘expect’ City to win all of their games between now and the end of the season.

Of course, Liverpool would love to beat City at the Etihad Stadium but Liverpool are working on the basis that City take maximum points.

That mindset at least keeps Liverpool aiming high, knowing they can’t slip up at any point, and just adds a little pressure to Pep Guardiola’s men.

It’s still a fairly bold prediction from Klopp, and the coming weeks should set the stage for a stunning end to the season.

“I think you can expect that, or we expect that,” said Klopp. “Historically, it happens more often than not that they win pretty much all their games. OK, we play them once and that’s one game we want to win as well, definitely. So, of course if it would be 12 points or 15 points or whatever, it would be a completely different situation,” he added.
