Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has suggested to The Liverpool Echo that Alisson could be available for the match against Manchester City this weekend.

Alisson did not play for Liverpool in their Premier League game against Brighton and Hove Albion at Anfield on Wednesday evening.

As stated on the defending English champions’ official website, the Brazil international goalkeeper did not feature in the game due to illness.

Liverpool will return to action on Sunday when they take on City at Anfield in the Premier League.

Ahead of the game, Klopp has said that the 28-year-old is now feeling much better.

The Liverpool Echo quotes Klopp as saying: “Ali feels much better. Sadio and Fab will be in parts of team training. We will see.”

Boost for Liverpool

Alisson is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and it would be a massive boost for Liverpool if he is able to play.

City are in great form at the moment and are at the top of the Premier League table, while the Reds are in fourth place.

For Liverpool to maintain their chances of winning the league title again this season, they have to pick up all three points against City.

Alisson between the posts against Pep Guardiola’s side would enhance the Reds’ chances of doing just that.
