Liverpool reportedly could sell the Swiss to Monaco for a whopping £33 million.
According to Swiss media outlet Blick, Monaco are interested in signing Liverpool winger Xherdan Shaqiri.
And the Reds reportedly want £33 million for the Swiss ace – a price that Monaco are allegedly willing to pay.
And if Liverpool do manage to offload the 26-year-old for that fee, it would surely have to be considered as exceptional business from the Merseyside outfit.
Shaqiri joined the Reds from Stoke City in the summer of 2018, for a fee believed to be worth £13 million, according to BBC Sport, and he has gone on to make 31 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side, notching six goals and five assists in the process.
An 80-capped Switzerland international, the Liverpool ace is a decent player, but he has hardly set the world alight since moving to Anfield from the Potteries.
Klopp has Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah as his current wide attacking options, but he also has Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Adam Lallana, Divock Origi and Rhian Brewster who can all fill in on either flank.
Shaqiri has not been a game-changer for Liverpool at all, so selling him for £33 million to Monaco really would be an absolute masterstroke from Michael Edwards.
And it’s not even as if Liverpool would be in desperate need of a replacement before this evening’s deadline.
