Liverpool make their opinion clear on Ovie Ejaria’s loan spell after early Ibrox exit

Rangers saw Ovie Ejaria depart Ibrox on Saturday evening.

Rangers confirmed on Saturday that midfielder Ovie Ejaria has left the club and returned to Liverpool – and the Reds’ statement has offered praise to the Gers.

Ejaria, 21, had shown some promise with Liverpool, but after a poor loan spell at Sunderland earlier this year, he needed a strong campaign.

The midfielder followed Steven Gerrard from Liverpool to Rangers, with Jurgen Klopp seemingly keen to let Gerrard develop his young playmaker.

Ejaria started the season well but has faded of late, and amid rumours about his timekeeping, he was left out of Thursday’s squad to face Rapid Vienna.

Gerrard admitted that talks were ongoing about Ejaria returning to Liverpool, and that eventuality was confirmed on Saturday evening, with the midfielder heading back to Anfield.

Ejaria is likely to head out on loan again in January, and fortunately for Rangers, it doesn’t appear that Liverpool have been left annoyed with the Gers about the situation.

Liverpool’s statement about Ejaria made their verdict clear, as they claimed that his move to Ibrox was ‘an experience the club believe has been extremely beneficial for his career’, seemingly still happy about the arrangement despite its premature end.

That’s great news for Rangers given that Ryan Kent is also on loan at Ibrox, and shouldn’t stop Gerrard from signing other Liverpool talents on loan – such as striker Dominic Solanke.
