Liverpool winger Luis Diaz produced a superb performance against Chelsea on Sunday, earning huge praise from Gary Neville in the process.

The Reds won the Carabao Cup final on Sunday evening, beating Chelsea on penalties after a stunning shootout at Wembley Stadium.

After 21 successful penalties, Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga blazed his effort over the bar to give Liverpool the win.

Diaz may not have been involved in the shootout but you couldn’t ignore his impact during his time on the pitch.

The Colombian winger was a constant menace, driving at Chelsea defenders with sharp movement throughout.

Jurgen Klopp did eventually substitute Diaz, meaning he played no part in the penalty shootout.

Chelsea defenders knew they were in a game against Diaz though, knowing they couldn’t slack off for even a second.

The January signing from Porto is making a real impact at Anfield and already looks like a great signing for Liverpool.

Gary Neville was covering the game for Sky Sports and admitted this was his first time seeing Diaz in action live.

Neville suggested (23mins) that Liverpool have ‘found another one’ in terms of their immense attacking talent.

Diaz joins Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino in a scary set of Liverpool attackers.

Neville added that Diaz’s movement is ‘really good’, noting that he was constantly challenging the Chelsea back line.

“This is the first time I’m watching him live, it looks like Liverpool have found another one,” said Neville. “His movement is really good, always challenging the space behind the defenders,” he added.

Diaz can still improve his end product a little at Premier League level. We know he has that in his locker after 16 goals and six assists in the first half of the season at Porto.

With a sensational ability to stop, square up defenders and accelerate quickly, Diaz is a nightmare for defenders.

Once that end product improves, Liverpool could have one of the Premier League’s top winers on their hands.
