Liverpool loanee striker Rangers reportedly want ‘has it all’, says teammate

Liverpool-owned striker Rhian Brewster is delivering the goods for Swansea City, and there is no surprise that Steven Gerrard reportedly wants him at Rangers.

Rangers want to sign Brewster on loan from Liverpool in the summer transfer window, according to a report in The Scottish Sun in June.

With Lille interested in Alfredo Morelos, according to Sky Sports, the Gers will need a replacement striker if the Colombian leaves.

Brewster’s progress at Swansea has been admirable, and there is every reason to believe that the 20-year-old – on loan at the Swans from Premier League club Liverpool at the moment – will succeed at Rangers as well.

Andre Ayew plays with Brewster at Swansea, and the 30-year-old Ghana international winger has raved about the England Under-21 international.

The Times quotes Ayew as saying about Brewster: “He has everything to play for. He has goals, speed, power and shots.

“He’s still young and has a few things to improve on, but when we’re talking about pure finishing, being in front of goal and shooting, he has it all. He works hard and he’ll be a top, top player.

“He’s learning to cope with playing with men week in, week out which isn’t easy. The Championship is hard.

“He has big ambitions and I pray for him to be able to get this club up with his goals. I think it will be a big turning point in his career. He has the qualities to be in the Premier League and there is no discussion about it.”

Brewster has made 20 starts and one substitute appearance in the Championship for Swansea since joining in January, scoring 10 goals in the process, according to WhoScored.

Meanwhile, Rangers manager Gerrard has dismissed speculation linking him with Bristol City, with The Express reporting earlier this month that the Championship club are interested in appointing the former England international midfielder as their new boss.

Gerrard told The Evening Express: “I am content here, I’m happy. My people haven’t heard anything from Bristol City, so I think it’s just paper talk and rumours.”
