Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool may have made an offer to AC Milan defensive midfielder and Arsenal target Ismael Bennacer, according to Corriere della Serra.

The Italian publication has reported that Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all want to sign Bennacer from Milan.

The report has claimed that the 24-year-old Algeria international defensive midfielder may have received an offer from Liverpool as already.

Another Italian news outlet, CMW, reported last month that Arsenal want to sign Bennacer from defending Italian champions Milan in the summer of 2023.

Bennacer, who was on the books of Arsenal from 2015 until 2017, is under contract at Milan until the summer of 2024 and is valued at €60 million (£52 million) by the Serie A giants.

Could a transfer happen in January?

In our view, Liverpool are unlikely to be able to sign Ismael Bennacer from AC Milan in the January transfer window.

Milan are aiming to win the Serie A title again this season, and there is no way that the Rossoneri will sell the former Arsenal prospect in the middle of the campaign.

If Liverpool are really keen on Bennacer, then, in our view, they will have to wait until the summer of 2023 to make a deal happen.
