Liverpool target will stay with Schalke.

American midfielder Weston McKennie has signed a long-term contract extension with Schalke, the Bundesliga website reports.
McKennie was linked with a move to Liverpool in January, The Sun claimed.
Now McKennie has drawn a line under the speculation by extending his contract at Liverpool until 2024.
The US international’s side will head to Anfield next weekend for a pre-season friendly.
He will miss the match because he is on international duty with USA at the Gold Cup.

McKennie, 20, is a bright prospect, although he might not have been ready for a big move to Liverpool at this stage.
He made 19 starts for Schalke last season in the Bundesliga.
Now he will be playing under former Huddersfield boss David Wagner.
