The La Liga youngster has been continually linked with Liverpool over the last year.

Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams has shrugged off suggestions of a move to Liverpool, instead pledging his future to the La Liga club in an interview with AS Diario.

The forward was initially linked with the Reds in the January transfer window, with the Guardian claiming Jurgen Klopp was a big admirer.

He was then linked again in the summer while further reports emerged this week, namely from the Sun, suggesting a move could be on the cards.

It appears he has no intention of making the move to Anfield though, as he has firmly committed his future to Athletic.

“I’m happy at Athletic, it’s where I want to be,” Williams told AS Diario.

“I want to continue here for many more years. I want to be Athletic’s future number nine – the player who raises the roof at San Mames every week and scores lot of goals.”

It remains to be seen if the rumours prove true and Liverpool do make a move Williams’ signature in future.

At present, they are not exactly in need of a new striker, with Roberto Firmino starring as the central striker in the team.

They are currently the joint-highest scorers in the Premier League alongside Manchester City with 20 goals to their name.

Should that continue it seems unlikely they would go out to spend the big money needed to sign the Athletic Bilbao star, especially when other areas of the team are in more drastic need of improvement.
